592 days after he was acquired along with 2 other minor league arms for Gary Sheffield, Sanchez finally threw his first professional pitch for the Yankees Gulf Coast League affiliate. One run on a hit and 2 walks in 2/3 of an inning. It's a start.
Sanchez was one of the top pitching prospects in baseball at the time of the trade, but had to have TJ surgery almost immediately. Before the surgery, he had a plus fastball and a plus slider. It will be interesting to see how he progresses from here. At least he's pitching again.
