No fun watching the big boys right now

Who are trying to determine where exactly is "rock-bottom", so let's take a look at some good Yankee news (of the Scranton and below variety)

Zach McAllister continues his breakout season in Charleston. 8 IP 6 H 6K 1ER in a win against Greenville-the only run allowed a HR to Sox prospect Ryan Kalish. McAllister now stands at 6-2 with a 2.05 ERA on the season.

Ivan Nova was even more dominant for Tampa. 8IP 2H 1BB 6K 0ER in a 1-0 shutout of Vero Beach.

Trenton shut out Reading last night-and Jose Tabata actually had an extra-base hit! More importantly, Mark Melancon is really starting to put it together-3 IP 1BB 0ER 4K. I imagine he'll be heading up to Scranton soon.

Speaking of Scranton, they lost a 3-2 decision to Pawtucket in Jeff Karstens' 2008 debut, but JB Cox posted 1.2 IP, 1BB,0ER, and Scott Patterson followed him with a perfect 9th inning.

No fun watching the big boys right now

Nasty - At the game last night, I was probably one of the few people who watched as the people who man the old scoreboard in left kept changing the Baltimore score ... and even during the last inning when Papelbon was striking out two Royals to end the game, I noticed that it was 10-2 Baltimore in the 8th. Ouch!

But remember last season? People were saying the same things about the Yanks in April and May. I'm convinced that in the end, it really doesn't matter how you start ... it's how you FINISH. The Yanks will be right there again at the end of the season. Count on it.

Who's going to replace the Yanks? ...  Baltimore? Tampa Bay? Toronto?? LOL.

Thanks for the update on the Yanks farm system prospects. The way our pitching has looked at the major league level we may be hearing more about some of these young arms in the near future. Regardless of who's on the hill though the bats need to come alive if we expect the Bombers to make a run at thir 14th consecutive post-season.
