Horne a week away

Posted on: May 20, 2008 11:16 am

According to SWB Yankee beat writer Chad Jennings, Alan Horne pitched in the same extended spring training game A-Rod rehabbed in yesterday,  posted 2 scoreless innings and reported absolutely no pain. He's scheduled to throw another 4 innings Thursday, then appears set to make the start for Scranton next Tuesday. So Horne goes from looking like his career could be potentially over to back in the mix for the Bronx in a little under a month.

In other news, Jeff Karstens makes his 2008 debut for Scranton today. He could see time in NY shortly as a spot starter should IPK continue to falter, or as the long man.

Horne a week away

.......And now the news that the much rumored McCutchen promotion was made official today.

He was 4-3, 2.52 for Trenton. In 50 innings he allowed 38 hits with 15 walks and 46 strikeouts.
